Oregon Coast Aquarium

We haven't been to the Aquarium in quite some time. The kids were pretty excited because none of them seem to remember anything about it. I think Brynlee was still in a stroller the last time we went. The weather was beautiful, chilly but sunny! I think the big hit of the day was the "Passages of the deep" it was pretty cool watching the sharks swim over the top of you. My favorite has always been the jelly fish tanks, they are so neat to watch move! So here are a few pics from our day!

Spring Break 2008

Well, it is officially Spring... but the weather sure was wacky for Spring Break this year! We had sun, rain, wind, hail and SNOW! Yes, I said SNOW!! Brrrr! No real accumulation, but snow nonetheless! We went to Lincoln City for an overnight trip, went to the Aquarium and did some swimming in the hotel Saturday. The weather was cold, but beautiful. We woke up Sunday morning to this out our hotel window! There was snow covering the cars and in the barkdust areas outside. It was so pretty, it snowed for about an hour. The kids were anxious to swim again so we took them down to the pool and while they swam we stared out the window at the big giant snow flakes! Crazy spring break 2008!

Twilight!

So I haven't found (or shall I say made) time to read...in a long time! I'm usually one to pick up a book, start reading it and then NEVER finish it. I've got lots of those kind of books laying around.
I have been told by several people recently that there is a book called Twilight that I should read. So I found it at Target and thought why not. I really figured that it would be like all the other books i've never finished. To my surprise, I LOVE it! Not only did I finish it in record time, i've now read the other two in the series (New Moon and Eclipse). I seriously read New Moon in a day and a half. Kyle was SHOCKED! I think he was secretly glad when I finished Eclipse, because things are back to normal and I don't have a book shoved in my face. I've got the countdown going until August 2nd for the 4th book to be released! I can't wait!
So if you have any "can't put it down" kind of books to recommend, I'd love to hear from ya!

Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful day yesterday! The kids didn't wake up until 7am, we were thankful for that! Especially since Miss Bryn woke up 3 times in the middle of the night, coming into our room. She later confessed she was checking to see if we were actually the Easter Bunny. But since each time she came in we were sound asleep she was totally convinced the Easter Bunny must be real! haha! We did our easter baskets and found some eggs that were hidden. Then Bryn and Kyle made some pancakes from Bryn's new cookbook. Yum!
Then it was off to Church for a great Easter service. Bryn and Kaelyn liked the worship music, they were clapping and dancing. Brynlee took it a bit farther and was dancing in the aisle, to which everyone around us thought was great. She sure doesn't mind the extra attention.
After Church it was off to lunch with Kyle's side of the family. We had a great lunch and the kids got to hunt easter eggs.
The weather didn't cooperate, so the Easter egg hunt had to be done indoors. The kids didn't mind at all, they just wanted the candy! When we were done visiting and eating we left to my side of the family for dinner. We had a delicious dinner and a great time visiting. Grandma got all the kids a webkinz for Easter, the kids couldn't wait to get home and get them registered. Such a great day!

Christ is risen!

God has given us a perfect home through Jesus Christ our risen Savior. He has made a way for us to live an abundant life, both now and forever! God bless you at Easter!

"In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him" 1 John 4:9

Nobody gets to pinch us today!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Irish Blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine down upon your face.
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
Until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand

We've already had our green clover pancakes this morning. I'm not as skilled in the pancake design making as Kyle, but the kids thought they were fun! Everyone is dressed in green and ready for school. So fun!

Tag, i'm it!

I was tagged by my Mom! Check out her cool blog, Skydazzler

6 Quirks About You
Rules:
1: Link to the person that tagged you
2: Post the rules on your blog
3: Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4: Tag at least 3 people at the end of your post and link to their blogs
5: Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
6: Let the fun begin!

1. I like to watch all the reality TV shows...that in itself isn't a quirk I know. BUT... I can't stand that the east coast gets to see results before we do, so I cheat and find out who was voted off/fired/sent home every week early for my favorite shows. Then I love to taunt Kyle with, "I know who is leaving tonight". haha!

2. I like to chew gum, but I have this habit of popping my gum. I don't even realize I do it half the time. Its especially embarrassing when the instructor in whatever gym class i'm taking gives me a dirty look for being to loud with my gum.

3. I check my email like 20 times a day...just don't want to miss something important. It's not like I get that many important emails...I just want to know the second a new one hits my inbox for some strange reason.

4. I am not a foot person. I don't like people's bare feet near me...and i'm not even that fond of my own feet. So please don't touch me with your feet, and no I won't give you a foot message. Ever.

5. I have an irrational fear of ants. I know how small they are, you don't have to tell me. But I'm pretty sure their army's are ramping up to take over the world.

6. I enjoy getting new bed sets probably more than the average person. Every few months I'm ready for a new comforter. I think its seasonal. Now that spring is here I'm going crazy being stuck with the same comforter I had ALL WINTER!

Thanks for the tag Mom, very fun!

I tag:

Shyla! Mykiesten She just started a new blog, and I had nobody else to tag, so it works our perfectly!! I know technically you are supposed to tag 3 people...but everyone else I know who blogs has been tagged. Oh well. haha.

Awana Games!

Awana Games was a blast this year! It was held at Corban College last Saturday. All our teams took home a first place award! I guess we've never done that before. We had one Sparks team, and 3 T&T teams. Pretty cool! My throat hurt so bad at the end of the day from yelling/cheering...us parents get pretty competitive in the stands! haha! Even though we sort of had to force Garret to participate, the kids had a great time! Brynlee has one more year of Sparks, so she's excited to do the Spark-a-Rama again. This was probably Garret's last year doing the T&T games, he'll move on to middle school next year. Even though he could compete as a 6th grader, we had a hard enough time getting him to do it this year. haha. But Kaelyn can't wait until next year's games!

Vanilla Aspirin!

It's actually a Chysler Aspen, but thats not what Bryn calls it! She excitedly told everyone we saw Saturday, "we got a vanilla aspirin!" hahaha! So yeah, we traded in the mini-van and now we own a SUV. Hopefully the difference in gas is small. But I love my new "aspirin"!!! Yeah!!

College Road Trip

So the kids had no school today, after a trip to the gym I thought it would be fun to go see a movie. Garret was hoping for Spiderwick Chronicles. Bryn decided she had no interest in seeing that movie and she'd like to see College Road Trip. Kaelyn just wanted to SEE a movie. haha! So after a few phone calls to friends we compromised...Garret and 2 of his friends saw Spiderwick and all the girls saw Road Trip. It was a cute movie, the pig was pretty funny. Us Mom's got a little misty thinking about the day we leave our children at college. Yikes, thats crazy! Anyway it was a fun day out. The boys liked Spiderwick. Garret has read all the books and he said he'd rate the movie a 7.

She's a genius!

Saw this bumper sticker on a car the other day, and I think I want to make it into a sign for my middle child's room! This girl just can't keep her room clean. I think it's impossible for her. I think maybe she can't stand it to be neat and organized. It's like it freaks her out if everything is put into its place. Kyle walked in there tonight to tuck her in, and I hear him say, "it looks like something exploded in here" and her response, "Yeah. Pretty much." And she was comfortable with that.

I used to have a plaque that said a messy room was a sign of genius... but I lost it
